Following a sell out debut season at the 2012 Adelaide Fringe, a run at premiere Edinburgh Fringe venue, Assembly Festival and an appearance in the ‘Best of Edinburgh Fringe’ Freedom Festival, Hull UK, DJ Monski Mouse is bringing her hugely popular early childhood dance event, Monski Mouse’s Baby Disco Dance Hall, back to where it began in The Garden of Unearthly Delights.

The Adelaide-raised, DJ has been based in London (mostly) for the last two years where she relocated in 2011, with her comedian/magician husband, Tony Roberts and their ‘fringe baby’, nearly three year old, daughter, Monalisa.

“I am thrilled to be bringing my Disco back home to Adelaide, and to be able to catch up and boogie with family and friends” says DJ Monski Mouse.

“We are loving London, but there our always days that you get homesick for those things only Adelaide can offer, like a Saturday morning breakfast at the Central Market”, says Monski Mouse.

Monski Mouse has made a career from DJ-ing quirky retro tracks, while dressed as a glamour-girl-mouse, having played at arts festivals and clubs including Adelaide, Melbourne and Edinburgh Fringe. Since becoming a Mum in 2010, Monski Mouse has expanded her focus to the morning audience, of bubs, toddlers and parents/carers, in a career move that fits in with her new role as a working Mum.

“I count myself really lucky to able to adapt my performance career to make work my daughter can enjoy, and I am totally blown away by how much she absolutely loves the Baby Disco Dance Hall.” says Monski Mouse,”And I love having a dance before lunch time, what a absolutely wonderful way to start your day!”

2013 marks Monski Mouse’s 16th consecutive Adelaide Fringe, as a performer, or community media reporter.

“You could say I am an Adelaide Fringe addict, it’s a festival that has inspired me, its where I met my husband, giving me a family of my own and given me my first sell-out success”, says Monski Mouse.

Designed for children under 5 and their parents and carers, to dance and have fun together, Monski Mouse’s Baby Disco Dance Hall runs in the Romantiek Spiegeltent, in the Garden of Unearthly Delights, on Saturday and Sunday mornings (and Adelaide Cup Monday) at 11am from 16 Feb – 17 Mar. Tickets are available through the Garden of Unearthly Delights Box Office and at FringeTIx.

★★★★ Three Weeks “creates a unique atmosphere and allows friends, parents, carers,
grandparents (you name it) to join together by dancing, enjoying the music and relaxing.”
